Privacy Policy
Effective September 28, 2026
1. Who we are
Food Tech (“Food Tech”, “we”) builds and operates Food Manager, software that brings the orders restaurants and ghost kitchens receive on delivery apps (Uber Eats, DoorDash, SkipTheDishes) onto a single screen. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how you can exercise your rights. It applies to our website and to the Food Manager service.
2. Information we collect
We only collect what the service needs:
- Demo requests (website form): your name, your restaurant’s name, your phone number, your email and your message.
- User accounts (our clients’ owners and staff): name, email, password (stored hashed, never in plain text), role and sign-in history.
- Orders sent by the delivery apps, on behalf of our restaurant clients: the customer’s first or full name as provided by the app, the items ordered, options and instructions (for example an allergy), times and order status. The raw data received from the app may also contain other delivery details provided by the platform; we keep it as received to process and verify the order, and do not use it for anything else.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, sign-in logs, and identifiers of paired tablets and printers, for the security and proper operation of the service.
We do not collect any payment information: customer payments are handled by the delivery apps.
3. Why we use it
- to answer your demo request and communicate with you;
- to display, print and track orders in our clients’ kitchens, and confirm their status to the delivery apps;
- to manage accounts, secure access and prevent fraud;
- to provide technical support, detect outages and make the service more reliable;
- to meet our legal obligations.
4. What we don’t do
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising. We use no advertising trackers or audience analytics on our website.
5. Orders: our role
For orders, we act on behalf of the restaurant using Food Manager. The restaurant and the delivery app remain responsible for their relationship with their customers. If you placed an order and want to exercise your rights, you can contact the restaurant, the delivery app or us: we will help the restaurant respond.
6. Where your data is stored
Our application servers are hosted in Canada (Toronto) by Fly.io. Our database, where the information described above is kept, is hosted by Neon on Amazon Web Services in the United States (Ohio). We also use an email delivery provider for service messages (invitations, password resets, alerts).
Some of these providers are companies based outside Québec or Canada. Before sharing information with them, we assess the protection they offer and bind them by contract: they may only use the information to provide their service to us.
7. Cookies and local storage
The public website uses no cookies. It only remembers your language choice in your browser. The application (sign-in, dashboard, kitchen tablet) only uses essential cookies and local storage: keeping your session signed in securely, and letting the tablet keep working during an internet outage.
8. How long we keep it
- Demo requests: up to 2 years after our last exchange, unless you become a client.
- Accounts and orders: for the duration of the contract with the restaurant. When the contract ends, they are deleted within 90 days, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
- Technical logs: as long as needed for security and troubleshooting, then deleted.
9. Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed with a recognised algorithm. Access to data is limited by role: each restaurant only sees its own orders. Tablet pairing links and password reset links expire and can be revoked. If a privacy incident posed a risk of serious harm, we would notify the people concerned and Québec’s Commission d’accès à l’information.
10. Your rights
You can ask to access your personal information, have it corrected, withdraw your consent, or have it deleted when we no longer have a reason to keep it. Write to us at contact@foodmanager.store. We respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact Québec’s Commission d’accès à l’information or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
11. Person in charge of personal information
As required by Québec’s Law 25, the person in charge of the protection of personal information at Food Tech oversees this policy. For any question: contact@foodmanager.store, Québec, Canada.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date above shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will inform our clients before it applies.
